I love the "antique" look of my new Walker

CrackoutCrackout Posts: 1,369 ✭✭✭✭✭
I picked this up for my Dansco 7070 type set. I'm going for a darker, original look for all the coins in VF-XF (although this one looks to be AU). But I love the classic design of this coin with the darker toning that makes the devices really jump out. Add some golden hues and it really has that "antique" feel to it.

I, for one, would love it if my set all looked just like this coin. It's a handsome piece in my opinion.

It has a nice look... the reds in the skirt lines and outlining liberty on the obverse are a little disturbing at that angle. Maybe in hand it wouldn't look so suspect like it does in this picture. Otherwise, it is close to AU... XF45 more likely, if not bodybagged on questionable toning or a corrosive reaction with iron or something...., but in a Dansco 7070 and with a name like Crackout image.... it really doesn't matter if it is NT, AT or any of that. It is what you like and if it suits the desired look for your 7070, then all the better image

    That's the look I love.
  • That coin has great eye appeal! I've got most of the 30's Walkers raw in XF, but none have the "look" of yours. Nice catch!

Like a lot. Does anyone else here think it looks like a circulated proof? (Yeah, I see the D mint mark, I know it can't be).

    Perfect DANSCO Walker.
I wish more type coins could look as good.

  • Very nice - love the contrast on this one! It is a tribute to the design that Walkers look
so good, even in well-circulated states of wear.

Nice would have to say Extra Fine coin.
Little to much wear for the AU grade before some body put it away at least fifty years ago.
    A true collector’s coin.
