I saw how they do it. They keep this guy in a cage and give him the slabs to gnaw on for a while. As you can see he is starting to develop some teeth and gum issues. Too many plastic shards sicking him in the gums image

This should be a good reminder to everyone. Brush twice daily and floss once a day. Plaque hardens in 24hrs. If you dont take care of your choppers you will be paying Stone a visitimage

  • Go to home depot, you will need the following:

    Hammerdrill
    10 lb sledge
    bubble wrap
    cinder block

go around the corner buy a bottle of rumplemintz

    drink bottle of rumplemintz

place slab squarely on cinder block

wrap yourself in the bubble wrap

    grab the hammerdrill

hand the sledge to your wife

tell her what you paid for the card and what you plan to do with the hammerdrill

You will be glad you had the bubble wrap

  • If you don't care about the grade, send it to psa and let them do it. Just don't specify minimum grade on the invoice.

I use a nice pair of gardening shears (like you'd prune a branch with). I lop off the corner, then just pop it with a screwdriver - 20 seconds max - never a problem. I'd like to use that guy's teeth though....nice chicklets.

See, I did just that - and that's when I ended up buying those damn BGS slabs in the first place.

I use a dremel and cut the corners. I used to use shears until I got a chuck of plastic stuck in my neck. Hate it when that happens.
If you're crossing over and don't care about the min grade you should put "1" down, otherwise it'll get stuck on the problem shelf.

I guess I don't understand why one wouldn't just send the graded card into another graded card company like it is. If you're afraid of bias against that other brand, then I would assume you don't have trust that they are grading fairly, accurately and consistently.
    Enjoy your collection!

  • Loth,
I believe that if you send it in with no minimum grade, it will be rejected. YOu have to use a minimum grade of one.
Send the slabs to PSA and fill out the crossover form. They will take care of it and you are insured in case of damage to the card for a reasonable declared value. I have had several submissions of these........ works like charm.
