Nick on rim or edge of coin

Can a coin be graded MS65+++ with a cut or nick or small indentation on the rim of a mint state coin? If it can't be graded MS65+ can it still grade out MS 60, 61, 62, 63, or even 64?? Looking forward to hearing your responses. Thank you in advance from Mike.

i would say if it detracts from the eye appeal it won`t go 65 but it may go ms60-64, just my 2 cents

I had a circulated Connecticut with a small rim nick that you almost had to know is there that was bb for it. I would say good luck in getting it graded.

A rim ding or cut, should never make MS-65. In fact I

wont but such a coin even in well worn condition. If I was

the grader, I would BB them unless the were very rare or

expensive coins. Then I would net grade them really much lower.

Why do some collectors think a rim nick is a big deal while larger bag marks on Liberty's face is not as big of a deal? The rim is not a prime focal area! I just don't get it.
