In a really wierd way I found these guys entertaining. Maybe it was just fascinating to see how many mistruths they could pack into one sentence. They would never outright lie but oh, how close they would get
I thought R.Chambers owned "The Coin Vault" and merely purchased time from HSN ? He will no doubt purchase time from other TV channels and be back in your homes. Otherwise, how can people expect to complete their platinum plated State Quarters Program! Can't keep the wild man down !
I'm sure someone will buy the old shows for Reruns. They're great entertainment. But then people might send money to a vacant building and get nothing of value--
<< <i>I dunno about not lying. I saw a coin show a couple days ago that said the 1968 Kennedy was solid silver. >>
You sure you heard that right? Usually in such a situation they would say something like, "the coin is 40% solid silver", and then the next sentence would be like, "Wow, this coin has solid silver and look how the price of silver is going up!", thus IMPLYING that the coin was solid silver, but not technically LYING, even though highly misleading.
Looks like you guys'll have to tune in to Shop NBC and listen to Jim Fisher talk about what an experienced collector he is while he's fingerprinting all the raw coins with his greasy, fat little sausage-like fingers.
One of our company's foremen, and a personal friend of mine, had been transferred to Dallas for the last year. I hadn't seen him in that time.
He came by my office the other day just to catch up. He knew I was into numismatics and he told me had had just started while he was out of town.
You guessed it. Too many nights in motel rooms and nothing on the tube.
He proudly showed me his State Quarter sets; the mints, the proofs and the gold and platinum plated, he had many mutiples.
I told him to sit down and we had a short but very sad talk. Yes, it was Robert Chambers, our favorite used car salesman.
If silver breaks $80, he might break even on his cleaned and whizzed common morgans. "But look how they shine?"
Apologies to real car salesmen.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
Anybody who buys coins from Coin Vault is a fool once you know what those coins they are selling on tv are really worth. Even though Shop at Home will be gone soon I'm sure that Coin Vault will find another television home shopping program to sell their merchandise on.

<< <i>Looks like the CoinVault site is already down. Home page shows but nothing found when you click on product. >>
What is The CoinVault website address. It's not www.coinvault.com, that's an actual dealer and everything is available.

Collect for the love of the hobby, the beauty of the coins, and enjoy the ride.
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
