Let's meet & Greet.

Some guy who likes ZAR coins:

image

I've been seriously hooked on 'Numismatics' for the last year and a bit.

I have a biscuit tin ( a large one ) in Holland full of pre Euro European pieces which i picked up on holidays to other countries when I was a youngster. I lived in Australia for 20 years ( Cairns ) and now reside in the Emerald Isle with a lovely wife in a house packed full with happiness !!

My favourite thing about coin collecting: Gold Coins.

Least favourite: Storing them at the bank so I rarely see them.

My biggest worry about coins: Blowing my life savings on them. Ha ha ha.

OK - who's next ??

I've been collecting seriously for 5 years now, my main interests are morgan $s and I specialize in 1921 VAMs.

Born in Berlin came to the States in 61 so I collect German coins also, I'm all over the place with my german coins, gold, commems, birth year (1951) and some of the really old stuff 1700's.

the pic was taken a few years ago during one of our rare snow storms here in Virginia.

I was a bit thinner when this one was taken.

I am putting together a US 1876 year set, a US transition year type set, and type sets for Canada, Nefoundland, Australia, Japan, Philippines and a few other countries. My US 20 cent piece equivalent set is nearly finished (and has been for years).

Currently I am working on my George V commonwealth type set (3d through crown) and buying modern Royal Canadian Mint dollar coin crud. I can excuse the latter as being done for my daughter to be born in about 2 months. Why else would I even think about spending good money for 2006 RCM junk?!

When I was young and pantless, 34 years ago:

At that time, I was into Roman Imperial.

These days, I look for relatively inexpensive projects; usually ones that highlight artistic types. Related to that are art medals.
