Unusual(?) cello packs w/scans

Trading with bobsbbcards, I've been going through my unopened stuff and found a couple relatively unusual things. I scanned them to see if anyone else has any other information on these and just to share them.

First a 1982 Topps cello pack that I think was just offered in grocery stores if I remember the story the dealer told me:



The second one is a 1987 Fleer red-waxpack cello:

Yes, the 1982 is a grocery rack. Pretty common from 1979-1983 in baseball and football. People like them because they are difficult or are unable to be searched so often times sell for a little more of a premium.
The 1987 Fleer is I believe their retail rack. There were both the red and blue. I may be wrong but I think the different colored packs had different inserts in them...just as the cellos had different inserts.

You're right about the '82Topps -- they're individually wrapped in cello, too -- impossible to search through.

Thanks for the tip on the different insert cards in the '87 Donruss. I hadn't heard or noticed that before...

Nope, you are right. I believe those retail racks also had a problem with lousy centering l/r
