'52 Topps . . . Little Help Here, Please

Can anyone explain how this card was graded an EX 5? Looks like a ferret was gnawing on the top right corner . . . I'm thinking of submitting some, but was hesitant due to their condition.

Input appreciated!

Thanks, Fellas.

You've got a point. These rounded corners are beyond "becoming evident".

Here are the definitions of PSA 5 thru 2 regarding corner rounding:

    EX 5: Excellent.

Excellent On PSA EX-5 cards, very minor rounding of the corners is becoming evident...

    VG-EX 4: Very Good-Excellent.

A PSA VG-EX 4 card's corners may be slightly rounded...

    VG 3: Very Good.

A PSA VG 3 card reveals some rounding of the corners, though not extreme...

    GOOD 2: Good.

A PSA Good 2 card's corners show accelerated rounding and surface wear is starting to become obvious...

Guess they felt that the overall eye appeal was worth it. I don't, but what do I know?

Ouch! I have a some 5's that put that to shame. That is a 3-4 if I send it in.

Also, I hate irregular borders like that. Certainly a terrible 5.
  • Off center . . . Diamond cut.

I hope my submission receives the same love.

Some of my '52s actually have corners. Probably come back as 3's.

A card with enough wear that pieces are actually worn away? And a tilt cut? and that horrible registration.

    That's "eBay excellent condition" !

me thinks a grader missed the boat on that one.
