Cheers! Wick
Enjoy collecting vintage baseball cards, memorabilia and autos
I just looked at the few 79 Tark's I have sitting around and they are poorly centered. I was gonna send one your way but I am certain these could not be in a PSA 8 NQ holder. Oh well. My 62 Tark is beaten, a 5 at best.

Welcome! It's nice to see a Tark fan here. I had the pleasure of watching him scramble around with the Vikes early on in his career. He was one heck of a player!
I'm anxious to see your collection, too. Hope you figure out how to upload pics...

They still play baseball in KC? I thought the Royals moved to Canada?

I'm not overly familiar with the football sets over the years. What year is that Tark you've shared?? It's definitely different from the rest...I like it. It looks like a high-grade card, too...
Thanks,

It's a 1979 Topps. Centering is a beast on the late 70's cards. The bottom right corner is a little more than touched and the print flaw on the left side near the bottom I think would keep this from a 9.
The 79's as a whole had some interesting photography. Many close ups of faces and a lot of pre game and side line shots and few game action shots. I love the set and when I got back into the hobby in 2000 vending and wax was really cheap so I bought a lot. There are 3 HOF rc's: James Lofton, Earl Campbell and Ozzie Newsome. 10 HOFers in all and the only other notable RC is Doug Williams.
I think the set is one of the best of the 70's because the photography is very unique.

One of the board members saved me from almost getting ripped off on ebay, and sent me a link to the forum.
It's definatly a great place to hang out.

The '70s is a big black hole in my collecting exerience (the Air Force, college, single and partying in Denver, CO, etc. etc.), so this discussion has really enlightened me. Just from the few '70s football cards I've acquired, I'd have to agree with your observation about the '79s having more interesting photography. I'm going to have to see what I do have and look at them with this in mind...
