21S Morgan Thornhead (Very) EDS VAM1B7?

Purchased this on eBay this past week. I thought I’d share.

Error Coin - Doubled rim around obverse and reverse of the coin:

Notice the fine die break lines from the Bonnet through LIBERTY'S Headband.







And then maybe the very first evidence of the VAM-1B7 massive die break that will later occur over the Y in LIBERTY.

Very cool! Looks like misaligned dies. Unevenly struck reeding probably supports that. I'll have to look at my 1B6 next week to see if all the gouges you show are on mine. I wouldn't call it an EDS 1B7, since die gouges such as the one through the Y in LIBERTY don't grow like die cracks do.

I also looked at another of my 21S VAM1B6s and it has similar rim and reed doubling just not quite as dominant.

Dang it, now I am gonna have to go and check mine again.....two of them have similar markings but I never checked the 3rd surface.....
