My set is AU with the exception of this 1815 XF45. The 1834 SD, SL is an addition to my collection. I'm trying to accumulate 100+ varieties in an attempt to join the BHNC......only about 40 pieces so far.
That's a mighty fine 1815! Those tend to come ugly regardless of the grade. When you have 100 die marriages, let us know and we'll be happy to get you a sponsor for BHNC membership.
OBV. although, I cannot find "A patch of tiny dots near lower ribbon" OR "the small die line that extends 3/4 mm from end of Bust" Stars 8, 9 & 10 definitely recut, and heavy serif at top of 1 REV. there is "the double segment above the last S in states" AND "horizontal lines between stripes"
Possible??

John,
We did not dicuss this variety. You mentioned the following:
<< <i>Very original, very crusty...a bit darker than pic but colors are on. >>
Yep, you got it, O-109. Considering all the varieties in 1834 small date, small letters, this one was easier to attribute than most. Nice pictures help a lot.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

The Bust Half Nut Club requires you to be able to attribute Bust Halves. Let's see how YOU do on attributing your 1834.
Please, nobody help cmanbb attribute this coin.

And I stated:
<< <i>Send it. It looks like a nice coin..... >>
That about all that was discussed.
