Fantastic customer service from PCGS team at Baltimore ...

I want to express my thanks to Sandy and her team at the PCGS table in Baltimore for outstanding customer service.

Thursday afternoon, I turned in a submission of (19) coins to PCGS, at about 4:00 PM. All of my past show submissions over the last 5 years have always come back in about 24 hours, so I guess it didn't occur to me that there was any chance I wouldn't get the coins back on Friday. When I checked Friday afternoon to see if the coins had come back, I was told that PCGS was running behind schedule due to a higher-than-anticipated volume of show submissions. I explained to the folks staffing the table that I was leaving Baltimore Friday adter the show, and that I wanted to hand-carry that coins back with me, as I did not want this particular group of coins to be shipped. Everyone in the PCGS operation got involved and did their absolute best to get the submission processed in time. As we got down to the wire, it was 7:00PM, and they were starting to turn off all the lights on the bourse floor. But the ENTIRE PCGS team waited there with me at their table until the box showed up ... hand-carried by one of their security staff. I got my coins back in time to take them with me to New York.

I learned my lesson - next time I won't assume that I can get 24 hours turnaround. But I also learned that PCGS really does care about its customers. Thanks to all of the hard-working staff who were at the table in Baltimore !!!! It was much appreciated !!!!!

Best,
Sunnywood

P.S. Out of (19) regrades submitted in the holders, two coins went up a point - both are now pop 1/0 finest graded, so it was worth the wait !!!!

And the $100 per coin fee!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Thanks for the note. You probably should send a copy to PCGS, too.

    Good for you!
Though, I wonder if they would have done that for just anyone???

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

It amazes me that PCGS can keep saying with a straight face at shows, "We're running behind due to higher than expected submission volume."

Hell, they should EXPECT it by now, because that's all that's been happening for about three years!
    When in doubt, don't.

You would think so, but it is getting worse show after show although walkthrough turnarounds have generally improved in the last year or so. I still recall during FUN 2004 some walkthroughs were taking as long as four days!

By the way, the current PCGS customer service staff is excellent. I can't think of anybody on the current customer service staff that I dislike.
