Presidental Review

I'm thinking of using it to try for an upgrade on a coin in the latest style PCGS holder... Is this the tier I use? I've never used it before. I did a search and turned up some info on it and it looks like this is the one I should use. Also, is it $20 total plus shipping? Have any of you sent your coin in with a comparison coin to argue the fact, thanks.

Presidential Review is only available for coins you submitted yourself, and must be done within 30 days of the submission. Otherwise, it would be a regrade submission.

If we send Bush in for Presidential Review,

do you think HRH will mark him as eligable

    to be slabbed?

  • Russ, It is a coin I submitted myself... I cant find anywhere on PCGS's web site where it has a "regrade" tier....

Look under grade guarantee not regrade!! Actually it is near the bottom of the fees and services page under regrade. No fee is given so you will have to call and ask; I think it is $30 unless they raised it.

Regrade isn't a tier, it's a submission type. Thus a regrade can be submitted at any tier and is subject to the cost and limitations of that tier. For example, you could send in a regrade submission at the economy tier for $18, but you would need a minimum of 10 coins. Regular at $30, minimum five coins, etc.

Since you submitted it yourself, if it posted within the last 30 days you can use Pres. Review, but it must have been submitted at the Regular tier or higher. If so, it's $20 plus shipping. Pres. Review is not subject to the minimums so you could send just the one coin.

  • It has been less than 30 days... so I could go the presidental review route... I guess they'll just know then that I think it's undergraded? Do I make a note somewhere? Min. grade? Thanks.

Just check Presidential Review on the submission form. No other notations are necessary as it is assumed by PCGS that the review is done seeking an upgrade.

PS: When you send it in, you need to attach a copy of the original submission form.

  • On the original form I need to send in.... should I send my copy or the copy PCGS returned to me with the submission......

Doesn't matter. In fact, you can just send a photocopy if you want.
