Coin Shop Pandemonium!

Saw something yesterday that I literally haven't seen since 1979/80. I took my son with me to our area's nicest coin shop. Nice large shop, great selection and a knowledgeable dealer. He was so busy buying silver bullion that he wouldn't uncover his coin trays for customers to look at and he was telling people that they had up to an hour wait to receive service! I've seen this before, but it was during the 1979/80 mania over rising silver prices. Apparently yesterday's excitement was over silver topping $10.00 an ounce. Talk about deja vu! It was a very interesting sight to see. Are we reaching the top of the market? image

Top? My guess is worth what it cost you, but I really doubt it.

The last time the public sold after the top so the implication is that silver is going far higher.

I've been seeing a lot more interest in the shops for moderns. It might be time to sell these. image

We've been buying in a lot of silver, but are selling about half of it back out at retail. One guy bought 50 100 ounce bars because he is expecting a severe shortage of physical product if somebody suddenly takes delivery on a lot of contracts. Who knows?

Wow...I don't think our local shop is having that problem. Interesting though. I guess people have been waiting a long time for silver to go up image

  • silver will go up with everything. haven't been adding much lately....not selling though.

i think all metals are going through this to an extent. i went to a scrap heap with some metal the
other day. Very busy people buzzing around bringing anything in for cash.
old cars, water heaters, old wheel barrows, farm equipment etc..
it was a scene right out of mad max. rough looking bunch.

    at least silver isn't greasy....
