    Nice half image

I'm a big fan of VF grades for ALL coins - especially for my 7070 type set.

VF-XF is known as the "collector grade".

That is a good looking half. Barber's look better circulated than any other U.S. coin (IMHO).

While I am not a fan of the design, there is a charm associated with collecting these coins in decent circ grade...

Nice VF. Now, put together the whole set like that. You'll become hooked and have this disease that quite a few of us have picked up in the last couple of years.

Good pickup. Barbers from choice Fine to XF are nice, IMO.

I am! I'm working on a Date set at the moment but could switch to the whole thing in a moments notice. I think I'm getting hooked...

    Nice coin.

So how come you deleted your Registry of Barber halves so fast? Looked like you had a nice set going with those first 2 VFs?

You scared me for a second there until I remembered that I changed the name to my board name. It's under the Date Set section but I may move it in with the big boys...It's up to three coins nowimage

    Thanks for the comments everyone...

How well did these actually circulate way back when ? Allot more than halves do now I would presume.

I'm not sure. But, I hear a lot of them are extremely tough to find in the VF/XF grades...

I like it. Tough to find and yes half dollars where used extensively until the early 60's and then fell out of favor.

I can remember my grandmother at the thrift store bakery getting lots of them. They bought a lot then and they were used in commerce. Smaller denomination coins were a bit more collected but halves just were used in commerce and too valuable to save back then.

Got this coin in hand today. Boy, the pictures don't do any justice for it all. The coin is actually lustrous! I've never seen a VF coin with cartwheels, but this coin has it.

If I can take some better pics (don't count on it image), I'll post them here later.

Problem is this coin makes my other two coins look too VF to meimage
