home from tristar show & this was the final results....

i made $660 ($700 table plus time & energy).

dane, the tristar organizer compensated me well with a booth @ the next show of my choice. promised me one of the best locations. GREAT GUY!

massagers were out in full force. customers & fellow exibitors were actually yelling at them to leave them alone.
the owner of the massage booth actually had the balls to ask dane for some money back.

i did very well with Bgs. I spent $2,000 grading alone not counting the prices of the team sets i opened (approx $500) 140 cards & 60 were at the raw card review where u have to pay twice (nice gimmick that got going with that).

Overall if the next show i do is a success (no massagers lol) everything i make will be profit (minus the $40 i'm in the hole).

So many questions, so little time..

    1) Did you ever figure out what the massagers were doing there in the first place?
    2) Why would you have BGS do raw card reviews?
    3) What are these team sets?

    all dealers complained.

also want to hear a cut throat story? i have baseball americas signed by all the best players authnticated through minor miracles & baseball america.

so to make along story longerrrrrrrr..............a customer & his son came to my table interested in 1 ihave (jeter) signed in 1994 on this beautiful cover nvever scene anymore (i have 2 of the 10 made). they said hold them one but they were also interested in a jeter (steiner) with ali @ a booth across from me i said ok, no problem. 25 minutes later they purchase the jeter from the other booth & i asked them polietly why they chose that one & they told me that the other dealer said mine was fake.

    GREAT SHOW!!!!!!

sounds like a horrible waste of time and money. I guess you almost broke even, but you should do better for a show. Sorry, that they put you next to the massage people, did anyone get a happy ending??? lol
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Does the raw card review cost the same as getting it slabbed, or do they give you a break on the $?
  • $12 to get rewieed & slabbed
  • $700 table fee is very high, Ft. Washington is only about $350 for the 3 days.

If there is any kind of traffic, that's a good deal IMO.

That's for one nite and 2 full days.

If you have good stuff, you would think that you would have the table paid for on Fri nite?

Good luck at your next show.
