grade this Indian Head $2.50

Just won this coin on ebay for $170 and the seller listed it as XF. Do you think the seller made a big mistake on that because it looks to be quite a bit higher then XF. Atleast AU if not low MS. The speck on the headdress is just a piece of something that fell on the flip holder before I took the picture.

Also does anyone know anything about the necklace clasps made for these coins? Are they usually made of gold?

    AU at least, with the usual misgivings about possible cleaning--not that I can see any evidence of that from the image. On the surface, I'd say congrats! On balance it looks like a good buy.

    Look at the lettering on the reverse at the top. It looks a little off. This series is very heavily counterfeited and you need to have this coin authenticated ASAP. Its very risky buying raw gold on ebay.
