$10,000 coin for future. Which coin?

My buddy has $10,000 that he can't just have sitting around to be seized by his ex-wife. He asked me what I think he should do. I said buy a $10,000 coin. He said that he'll hold it for 20 years as an investment. Which coin would be best suited?

A year ago I would have said an AU 1856 FE cent for $10,000.

Prices have risen a bit too fast for me to suggest it in the short run but for a 20 year holding period, I still like a EF/XF 1856 FE cent.

One of the two 1889-S PCGS MS65DMPL dollars would be a nice value if available. I personally think it is a fantastic value at even double the sheet price, with long term potential.

But how many people collect stuff like that esp in 20 years hence? If yer gonna "invest" in coins then invest in something liquid and popular. OR it better be something that YOU know fairly well.

A proof $5 Liberty. They're few and far between but a nice 63 would fit there. Only a NICE one.
