1956D ddo jefferson nickel

I purchase a roll of them on ebay, 18 of them are big time ddo's. Some of the others are DDR with the (M) in monticello doubled and the (D) doubled also. Is their much intrest in this coin ? They have not been graded as of yet. THANKS

i don't know of a DDO 1956 Jefferson other than the Proof. assuming that what you have are Mint State coins i'd have to suspect that what you're seeing is machine doubling. while that may be interestin it isn't really collectible and doesn't generally command a premium from a knowledgeable collector.

just now realizing these are 1956-D Jeffersons i'd say they are machine doubled.

YES , But not today. The (9) in 1956 looks as if it has been double stamped, at 7 o'clock there is a big portion of another 9 & some of the (6) are flat on the bottom with a oblong center. A lot of the wording on the front is doubled, some on the back. And some have steps

Hey mach19. Here is an example of machine doubling on a 57D Lincoln. Notice how the doubling can only effect some areas of the design yet leave others normal. Does you coin exhibit this type of doubling? This is not hub doubled.

nope.. what you have there would be machine doubling like in the Lincoln provided above.. not worth any premium
