Coins with holes have EF details. What if the hole is huge ?

" What gimmick will the coin hobby need next"

"Slabbed Coin Necklaces" The TPG's will drill the holes and insert a metal insert for ya. Holey coins would be preferred.

  • I always like to see what coins like this go for. Anybody want to throw some guesses out there. Im thinking this will still bring $75.

  • What seems to be the problem here? People DO collect holey coins.

It sounds like BigE is proposing drilling a hole through the top of the slab and not through the coin. Then you could wear the slab and coin around your neck. Not a good idea of something to do with your slabs.

Why risk the coin being scratched if it was on a chain? Just toss it in the slab, drill a hole, and bingo! Protected coin jewelry image

If you can find a matching one, you can also make them into cufflinks.

I have an 1876 II/II that has been holed and filled. Sheesh. Without that damage that bad boy would have been worth a small fortune. image
