Back from TOREX - Now with images

Kelly and I just got back from the TOREX show in Toronto. Met bosox, very nice guy.
A lot of Canadian coins there and many out of my price range. I did manage to pick up an 1858 LD 5c ICCS VG-8 which completes my Canadian date set, minus the 1921 5c and 1921 50c which I ain't getting.
Also picked up the following:
GB 1807 1/2d Brn Unc. Absolutely stunning coin. Mark free and it has 'THE LOOK' to the coin.

Bulgaria 1930 100 Leva Toned Unc. Nice subdued colors of red and blue.

France 1812I 5 Francs VG. Scarcer Limoges Mint.

France 1834B 5 Francs VG. Another big hunk of silver from the early 19th Century

Newfie 1885 5c G-4. Scarcer date.

1. Admission is a little high IMO. C$6/person per day. If you go on Sat. it's $6. come back on Sunday, another $6. Children under 16 got in free.
2. I ran across my share of dealers who behaved like it was a sin to acknowledge your presents at their table. You know the type, you may be standing there, looking at something in their case, you look at them, and they totally ignore you. But I did run across one dealer who was fantastic! He had a case of Ancient, Medieval, and World coins. He was very friendly and quite willing to talk coins with us. No hard sell, not demeaning, just a nice guy who valued my business. His company is called .Carsley Whetstone & Company, Inc. I highly recommend him for his customer service. It's was nice to find a dealer who wanted to talk coins, and not only business.
3. Canadian coins are fast approaching the level of US coins. Prices are rising and the price difference between one grade is getting to the point of US coins. I'm glad I have completed my sets.

Thanks for the update and frankly, Canadian has been ignored for so long and certain coins are so rare that prices will move... and it will only be pretty for the haves and not the have nots.

When I find a dealer that is cordial even if he doesn't know whether of not I am a potential customer but treats you as one.........they get my full attention. These guys enjoy the hobby, like talking coins and are confident in what they're selling..............These are the guys we need more of.......
So next time you go to a show, all of you that experience the D**khead dealers that don't have time for you.............walk on by

Glad you had a good day.
