Bonds reconfirms what an a-hole he is...

I'm sure MLB and Selig will be thrilled to find out just how much Bonds thinks of the World Baseball Classic:

"...the World Cup isn't the Olympics. Who cares? Does it mean anything?"

Nice support Barry... they already know it has no meaning until it's more established, but they certainly didn't need him confirming that to the public.

"The game [isn't] fun anymore. I'm tired of all of the crap going on. ...right now I am not proud to be a baseball player."

F-you Barry... quit now since you hate it so much and you're not proud to be a professional MLB player, and you're not having fun while you make your $20M this season. I don't think anyone would be heartbroken if he quit now except the media who thrives on his moronic comments.

I just read that article before I came here - it never fails to amaze me how self-important this guy thinks he is. You're right - please quit now, Barry - and don't do us any favors by playing a game that is such a chore and has given you such a terrible life.

Its funny when the guy is bashing them out into the drink he is a god but now he is broked down and bitter and is not liked. Where are the
Bonds fans that were crawling all over this board 2 years ago!

Who?!? BKAH? I think most people - including the people here - have long thought that Bonds is a pompous ass.

I do agree with him on the World Cup, though.

If he thinks he's tired now, wait'll his liver stops working from all those steroids he injected.

I still say Barry Bonds "The baseball player" was and always will be the most feared offensive threat ever to step up to the plate. That is all I will ever argue steroids or not. I also bet there are a lot of haters that have stuck a needle in their own butt and just couldnt do anything with the results.

The guy has made millions upon millions and could care less what any of us say. And you know what? I dont blame him one bit for not playing, maybe he doesn't want the media asking the same old stupid questions again and again. The game is tainted and that goes far beyond the steroid scandal. How about your so-called hero's jumping team to team for the bigger bucks. Baseball is a bussiness and thats that, anybody that says these guys play for the love of the game is a moron. If Im a ballplayer Im getting everything out of the bussiness for myself and family. I dont expect many to agree with me here but thats my opinion and I stand by it.

but he is right , it is embarrassing to be a baseball player. with ozzie guillen running his mouth every chance he gets. steroids, frank robinson, raffy palimerio ect....ect....ect

barry is truthful, that why most thinks he is jerk but i don't think he owes anything to anybody. if you don't like him don't watch him ,that is what me and bryant gumble did to the olympics

the world cup is a joke, italy will have piazza and 24 people you have never heard of. baseball is hard enough to watch on t.v. as it is

I don't like the guy at all, but, you're right, perkdog: I can't really argue with his status as the most feared hitter of his - and perhaps any other - generation.

  • Italy will have Piazza??? WHY? Jeez, how far back are they allowing your ancestry to go? Pretty soon I guess nobody will be from the United States, heck nobody was just a few hundred years ago. That is why it is pretty stupid.
  • I'm embarrassed to even admit this, but BBonds is one player I actually root against. If I can't say something nice about someone, I usually don't want to say anything, but Barry is just one guy I can find no respect for -- feared hitter or not. I hope Hank's record stands for a long, long time...

Why are you embarrassed? I would be embarrassed to admit I did anything other than root against him. Imagine explaining to your (hypothetical) 12 year old son why you root for Barry Bonds - I couldn't do it, and I don't understand how anyone could ("Well, you see son, as long as other people are cheating it's OK if you do it, too", "Don't get involved with drugs unless you can make a nice profit", "Taking drugs and dying young are personal choices, and he is just expressing himself" - nope, none of those work for me). I wish him whatever misfortune it takes to prevent him from breaking Aaron's record - except an early death, but he has already guaranteed that anyway.

He was already the most feared hitter in baseball before he started cheating, but that wasn't enough for him - what an absolute waste of a human being.
This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

I hope he breaks the record.... sorry guys but thats how i feel!

after what congress did to mark mcgwire i think barry should hit 800 home runs..

if it wasnt for mark and sammy after the strike.... baseball would not be where it is today!

media can bit@h all it wants but in the end they want barry to chase this record... i think everyone does..??

A friend just asked me what I thought about Bonds...

We all have our opinions and you guys are way too knowledgeable for me to restate the guy's career.

But I will say about all the great sluggers...

like sosa, mcgwire, palmeiro etc. - the spectre of steroids will hang, like an albatross, around their collective necks thru the next millenium.

Bonds, please do us all a favor and quit baseball now.

You pompa$$ a$$, you were going to play in the WBC until you found out they were doing random steroid testing. Is Bonds saying that it's not important because HE isnt playing in it?

All that money can make you not care what others think about you....I say fine because I think you are dink whether you care or not! image

    Gosh that felt good!

EXACTLY......this piece of garbage backed out the second they announced testing............he cares about one thing, and it certainly isnt baseball.

I could never look my child, or any other child in the eyes and explain to them anything of merit that came from this man. I hope anyone with children wakes up and realizes the consequences of idolizing Bonds...think of the message that is being sent to kids. It shouldnt even be his decision to quit after this season, baseball should have tossed him on his needled up A$$ a long time ago.

  • Barry is venting; regardless of what you think of the guy, that's all he's doing. Guy's going through a divorce, concerns about his kids, knee problems, people doubting his place in the HOF, the whole media thing; in that position, I'd probably want to vent, and I just might do it at times that aren't exactly the best for my image. If he really wanted to quit, he'd quit; he doesn't need the padding to his bank account, and I don't think the final stats mean all that much to him (heck, if he played only one more year, he almost certainly wouldn't pass Aaron). The reality is that his body may only allow him to play one more year, but once he starts playing, I really doubt he'd hang it up if he thought he could contribute.
