Russian 50 Kopeks question

Yesterday I purchased a Russian 50 Kopeks coin from 1896, KM#58.
My Krause lists the coin as having two varieties, namely a star on the edge a certain mint (the catalog is somewhat unclear as to which mint) and without mint mark [sic], indicating the St. Petersburg mint.
My coin features a star on the edge, right above Nikolay's head. Can somebody confirm if I have the former variety, please? This variety is somewhat scarce, with a listed mintage of only 245,000.
Thank you in advance.
Philip

In 1896, Russia ordered coins from both Paris and Brussels probably because St. Petersburg mint was not able to keep up with the mint production after the 1894-5 Russo-Japanese war. These mints continued to mint for Russia until 1899.
Regarding about the 1896 50 kopeks, there should be 3 varieties.
1) Both side with mintmaster AG
2) Only one side with mintmaster AG (the scarcer out of all three)
3) Only one side with mintmaster AG, and one asterisk on the edge
I believe the 3rd variation was minted in the Paris mint and suprisingly it is not too difficult to find, unless you have an excellent grade, which is another story.

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
<< <i>In one of the most unusual epilogue history of Russian numismatic, Russia ordered coins minted from Paris and Brussels. There were other mints involved too, but we shall keep that to another day.

Thank you for your great reply!
It seems like I have variety #3. However, I noticed no mintmaster initials on the coin, which would be logical according to Krause as the non-St. Petersburg type (KM 58.1) has no mintmaster initials alongside the date (and 58.2, the St. Petersburg one, does have the initials listed). Can you please tell me where the initials should be located in the third variety of the ones you listed?
Thanks once again.

The first AG that I typed out for all three meant that they were designed by the mintmaster AG. Hence the first varient is a typical 50 kopek that you would expect to find, with the mintmaster mark initial AG. Sorry for the mixup there.

In other words, my coin is variety 4, minted in Paris (most probably), without mintmaster initials and with a star on edge.
Thanks for clearing that up. Looks like I have a scarcer variety and this made my day.
