Virtual Type Set: France

This was an idea I had once upon a time, long, long ago. A sort of picture thread, just for fun.

The idea is to collectively complete a type set for a certain place. I know there are probably some that could do this single-handedly without gaps, but let's see how many photos we can post together!

The topic for this thread is France. Post any official coins issued for circulation in France. Official patterns and NCLT are accepted as well, but no fantasies or medals or colonies (as those are topics for another time). This one is broad enough it should keep us going for a while! But, of course, you guys can feel free to create your own Virtual Type Set threads for other regions in the mean time.

Here are the rules: If a certain type has already been posted, you can only post another image of that type if it: (a) is a different grade than those already posted (in this way we can complete grading sets--an educational tool!) (coins posted need not be slabbed!); (b) displays a type variant or significant die attributes (doubling, cracks, etc); or (c) has a cool kind of toning (just to keep things fun image ).

Don't get hung up on the quality of the pics, just try to keep them legible (no brown splotches! image ) If you need help uploading pics let us know!

My starting entry:

1 Centime -- KM 754 (1848-1851) -- grade: NGC MS65 BN
This one is JamminJ pedigree and the picture is his, from the auction (apologies for not using my own! gotta admit, though, his are good!)

I wish I still had the BU Napoleon 1 Franc I bought and sold in NY, but let's try this one:

Not the most appealing coin overall, but a hell of a portrait on it.

Spoon, I love your Napoleon III one, I always wanted a full 100% red of these, the bigger denomination, the better. Ken, your coins are very pretty too, again I love the Napoleon III. And coinaddict, you just broke my heart, I just sold last week a 1917 franc similar to yours with the same nice peripheral toning.I liked severo's and shiroh's fivers too, French coins are really beautiful ,diversified, and much cheaper than Italians, there's the new theme that shroom was looking for.image

Thanks, I like 'em too image Actually, both the one and two centime's I have from Louie Napoleon cost me only $8 each! How's that for Darkside bargains! Still don't have the larger denoms in UNC though. image

Here's another for the set, not the best example...

Picked up a few more for the type set recently! All are raw and all are seller's images, but hopefully I should get a chance to reimage these soon.

    50 centimes -- Y 62 (1897-1920)
I managed to get not one but two half francs for my 1914 Europe type set. One's frosty white, the other wildly (and beautifully) toned image
    imageimage
    imageimage

    1 Franc -- Y 78 (1920-1927)
Minted in Paris, w/o mintmark. From the Chamber of Commerce series of the 1920s.
    imageimage

    And, finally... for now image
50 centimes -- Y 80.1 (1931-1941) w/o mintmark, minted in Paris (later issues use mintmarks from 3 diff locations)
