Home Metal Detecting

Found two Mercs today!

I got off early from work and decided it was warm enough to do a little diggin. I received permission to hunt a yard 3 doors down from my house.
I knew the house dated from 1910 (as do most of the homes on my street) so a silver opportunity was possible. I started by hitting along the sidewalk in front of the house and was rewarded with 5 Wheaties and numerous clad. As I neared the front door of the home I got a good dime signal at 4 inches which produced a nice 1942 Mercury! After sweeping the front yard as best I could I wandered around to the backyard to continue my search. I was impressed by the small amount of trash signals in my neighbors yard. My yard is plagued with nuts and bolts and foil which makes it tough to find a good signal. Anyhow I found another small handfull of clad in the backyard and was fortunate enough to sniff out a 1920? Mercury and a few more Wheaties! In total I found $5.43 in clad.

The weather is supposed to be pretty mild this week, so I'll try to make it back out before it turns really cold again.
