Geez I want to neg smoebody so bad...

Buyer said he couldn't buy... gave me rather shady reasoning but what could I do?

results of relisting the item... the above f**ker cost me $80!

The only reason I'm not negging the first buyer and probably going after him/her in other ways is that he/she did pay my listing and FV fees, so I let it slide. I still might neg the first person, I'm a bit beyond pissed right now...

Okay, I'll wade in - why didn't you relist the item with the same BIN?

I can't see any valid reason the seller couldn't pay. Just looking at the stuff they have won in the past 30 days, they have been winning bidder on 262 different auctions (mostly cards in the $10 vicinity, but a couple $60-70-80 range). They obviously had buyers remorse and backed out.

In light of her paying the fees, I would also hold off on the neg, but as Mark mentioned, how come you didn't just relist it with $305 BIN?
  • I had the BIN in place, but I had a $199 starting bid. The first time the BIN came in the day after I listed. I don't think the Chargers getting knocked out of playoff contention in the midst of all of this helped image

That bugs me more than anything...when a buyer wants to backout of the auction using some lame excuse, but they are paying everybody else. Just tell me you won the bid and now don't want it...who wants to hear the BS!

I agree. I had a worse situation that cost me over $300 from a buyer backing out. Never a good situation.

  • In the grand scheme of things $80 is really no big deal, but it is over a fourth of what I was initially going to get for the card. The seller said that they had a check that was given to them for over $7K bounce on them, but it seems like the seller had recently bought quite a bit of stuff. Really, what could I do: I could have made a stink with eBay or tried to get PayPal or their CC company to force payment, but after getting the offer to have my fees reimbursed I just said ferck it and went on with my life. Still... image

I was just going to post a topic to vent the same thing, only on a smaller scale. Some A$$hole purchased two cards from my store and not even 24 hours later he sends an email stating that he doesnt want them because the centering looks about the same.

I dont get it! The pics are right there in the auction! What on earth made you click that buy it now button both times if you didnt take the time to look at them!!!???? THEN he has the freakin nerve to ask about other cards I may have! I then put him on my blocked bidders list.

You can go through the process of a mutual agreement so you dont have to pay your ebay fees for the item.

    This really is annoying. image
