It doesn't look to be a proof, the pic isn't that great, but the rims don't look square enough to make it anything but a nice business strike.

On the proof, look for die polishing lines between the 1 and 9 of the date. Also between letters US of TRUST, and a few real fine lines near WE.

On the revese, there should be some polishing lines above PLURIBUS that follow the curve of the border.

It's not a proof and it looks to have some scruffiness on the lapel. Also, if the color is anywhere near accurate then the coin has been dipped and has no original skin. I don't like it.

The color is because of the lighting, and does not look like that in hand. I will fix the pictures with low lighting.

Unless this is a bad picture and the color is not indicative of the coin, the pinkness of this coin suggests to me it has been dipped. And it doesn't look like a proof to me, though I'll admit I'm not an expert there.

Well... the thing I miss the most is a nice toasted bagel with a smeeeer of cream cheese -----SO ---- what does this lovely wife of mine do this morning---she goes out and buys a dozen hot bagels for the kids and announces as soon as she walks in the door that I CAN'T HAVE ONE...sheeesh.. SO- you have to bring up bagels and remind me of all this---you trouble maker..

Must be because I honestly have never slandered or whatever else he says I did to him??? All I did was mention that he was somewhat short and rude with his reply ...... the same as he was with me when I asked about early lincoln proofs a while back. Instead of trying to teach the original poster with information he was in my opinion rude.

Rabbitracks: Is that would graining on your 1916 proof like you see on early 09s and 1910's?

Watersport, yes it is wood grain on the reverse of the 16 proof cent. PCGS gave it a questionable color I think for the obverse. But I think it is original so did the graders at PCI, don't like their holders but they at least gave it a Proof 63 RB. Mike.
