I would still have to think that if you have a 52 topps mantle, one of the most popular cards in the world, you have to ask yourself one question, "do i feel like gai grading it."
<< <i>I have nicer cards than that with an OC qualifier. If GAI would give me straight 8's on that type of centering, I'd use them too... >>
Then you should resubmit your cards and ask for NQ because this card is 62/38 L/R and 56/44 T/B well within the (65/35 to 70/30) front centering guidelines of a PSA 8. The back is much, much better than 90/10 which is the standard for an 8.
This is a gorgeous looking card and deserves every penny it gets.
I think this card was just in one of the mile high or someone else's auctions along with a psa 8. there was some debate as to the merits of both. I could be wrong but the centering looks awful familer.
That surface and coloring is simply amazing regardless of the centering. Its at 41K right now, so safe to say its a bit out of my price range....could always do a home equity loan and pick it up though!! lol.....
Mortgage the house to the hilts in order to get '52 Mantle. Have to work on justifying that one to the wifey.
Collecting: Pretty much anything and everything, but raw '62s, Ripken and anything from my boys in Steeltown take top priority.
I'm sure it's just me, but that always makes me laugh. FORTY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS (plus who knows where it will end at), and the guy wants 25 more bucks to ship it. I hope it's a bubble envelope.
If I ever sell anything for $41,000, I'm driving it to your house for free.
I seem to remember that description or at least the claim that Baker graded it at the national and some discussion awhile back. Anyone remember that?
