Exactly right. I heard that someone had a bunch of 1973 FB vending at the National, now we know who bought it. I am surprised though - as I personally never have good luck with getting gradeable cards from vending.
I have had some good luck and some bad luck. Its a lot cheaper but you get a lot fewer gradable cards. I actually got a 73 box af few months ago and am about to send in some of the commons that are well centered and all the stars were way O/C.
If it is someone who usually does not sell graded cards there may be some good stuff. I have picked up many open boxes that have had loads of gradable commons and semis. Those people usually only pull the top 10 card in the box and leave some good stuff pehind. 4SC I'm sure would not leave anything behind.
I think they picked that up from Nationals. I thought I remembered seeing a guy near their table with that box for $4000. Either I was wrong and it was them who had it, or they were able to get it for less than that in order to be able to offer it for that on their site. I was fortunate to get one of these for a 10th of the price in 2001. It was not the series that had Bradshaw, but it did produce some great results. I think I had about 10 9's and a large number of 8's.
There are 263 in the set, 132 and 131 in each series. I have no idea what the hoing rate for one of these are. Most of the bigger names are in the 2nd series, Bradshaw rc, Greene rc, Starr, Namath, Sayers, Griese, OJ, Dawson.
So if you get the first series, IMO, its worth about half of what the 2nd series is.
zef, I agree that you can get good cards like this but when the seller shows only stars and they are all o/c or have print defects you pretty much know what you are getting. if there were nice cards , I think they would have showed a mix of the stars and nice centered cards. you can read a lot into a presentation like this.

What league are you in?! ESPN or CBSSportsline by any chance?? I use that for my 4 FFL teams, too. Although I use variations in ESPN when I get the 3-team package...
Hmmm. Wonder if we could get in the same league...any openings?
I am in one Yahoo league and one Sportsline league. This is the leagues 5th and 6th year respectively and every year I hate my friends that I am in the league with more and more. Don't you love male bonding.
We're set on #'s right now but should someone back out by draft date, I will give you a holla!
