If I told you that I would have to hunt you down and kill you, that could be a lot of work and I'm lazy!image

I have one of those on the Holey Gold Hat, y'know.

    Kewl.

I'll have to shine up the one on my hat before FUN. Since it's brass, I keep it polished to match the gold on the hat. image

I got the book on Imitation Guineas today. True to the title it lists 1000 of them. It looks like a very complex series made more so by the fact that there are no pictures or drawings in the book. I think I will continue to go after these, something to do just for fun. I bet a person could find several hundered types and never spend over $5 for a single token.

I saw a whole load of them for sale at the York coin fair (they were new ones though), bright lustre available in half or full size (i wish i'd bough some now). (I think they had correct reverse legends)

Still i do have one on the classics "In Memory of the Good Old Days 1768" and that's a half guinea size (amusingly a Spade! Just like yours.

Except mine is a heck of alot cruder.

Simon, I have one that is a Spade type with a bust of George III....dated 1701, I understand it was made in the 1860s.
