Strange scan

Every now and then when I scan a coin I get this. Does anyone know why?

    Joey i bought a Dali back in the late 80s for a couple grand "Le Cheval de Troie" found out a few years ago it was a fakeimage

    Fegetabout using a a scanner, buy a digital camera. There is NO possible way to even remotely capture what the coin may look
    like using a scanner. Even if you're only trying to share and doing the best you can. Doesn't matter.... we're image "connoisseurs" around here
    and take every image as an absolute. Don't even want to see dull scans, and that's just the way it is. That's what they tell me anyways.image It also needs to be blown up 50x so they can get the tape measure out
    and measure how long the scratches are. I use a loupe on these 50x images shown. Works well for me. Heh!

    BTW, I still use a scanner!!! For my own enjoyment that is.

    I think I broke my scanner scanning my face. As you can see from the pic in the post above...it stutters now.

    When your listing many somewhat generic widgets a flatbed scanner can be your friend. Selling a monster toned $13,000 coin is another thing. I feel bad about the Dali. Never buy raw artwork. Get it in a slab.

    Looks to me that the scanner was knocked ½ way off your desk & falling to the floor when it took that picture. I guess.

    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    Yep that is the problem.. or you can send me the coin, I will see if mine does that tooimage
