  • Hey there,

I would imagine the Gwynn to fetch great money. Since I paid $70 for the card, I'm in no hurry to sell it, though. For these cards, Gwynn is apparently a very tough 10. Before this card was submitted, only 3/104 had received a "10" grade, making it a very tough 10. (i.e., even Thomas, Ryan, Sosa, Maddux, Ripken, Griffey, and Clemens have MUCH more favorable Pop. report.)

    Thanks for the kind words.

I really thought the Clemens had a better shot at a 10 than the Gwynn. I'll take a picture and post when they're received. I don't have room on my desk for a scanner, and you all know how my picture-taking skills is, but I'll try!!!
  • BTW, a PSA 10 1993 Finest Refractor of Fred McGriff sold for >$300 a few weeks ago.
  • Great pickups!

All the negative stuff we hear about altered/trimmed/overgraded etc. cards on ebay, this shows that there's still some good raw still on ebay.

  • Great raw cards are available on ebay. My favorite but not most profitable was a raw 33 Goudey Demaree that was just stunning. I thought it might be a reprint when I got it. It was that nice. I paid about $15. Sent it off and received 8OC. (Walter put the gun down). Turns out the seller was upgrading his PSA set to sell and found a nine of this card. He said the card was from a find in New England during the nineties. Anyway, I flipped it on the bay for like $120. Kinda wish I would of kept it. The damn thing was brand freakin' new!

  • student - did you sell that Demaree PSA 8oc to me? I bought one a few months ago off ebay, but I forget the price. I think the card I got was fantastic. If it was you, thanks!
  • cmoking.

I think you did. How many 8OC Demaree are out there? The time frame is right. I could chekc my ebay archives. What is your ebay handle? Does the card have a weird red printing dot on one of the edges? My ebay handle is dander11274. You want to sell that card back to me? I wish you could have smelled it. I could almost taste the Goudey gum! That may seem ridiculous, but that card is unreal. Post a scan. I thought I had one, but it is just a memory.
