1964 Topps Baseball question

Does anyone know how the ruboff questions on the back of the '64s relate to grading. If otherwise NM/MT but rubbed without indentations what is the max grade possible. If rubbed/indented?

I just sent in 50 unrubbed today, but held back a few because I didn't know the answer. Obviously, not as blatant as 1980-81 Topps Hockey...

I would appreciate any comments at all on this set as I just got back a PSA 8 Mantle, and I expect nice grades (7,8,9's) for today's submission, so I may do a registry set.

Thanks in advance. image

I've seen rubbed off cards in PSA 9 holders... I don't understand it, but they don't discount it much when accounting for the overall surface of the card.

Thanks, Mike. The Mantle is the one that I discussed on the "to crack or not to crack" thread. Was an SGC 86, didn't crossover because PSA wouldn't grade it an 8, then I cracked it out and resubmitted and *Voila!*...PSA 8! Never would have resubmitted it if it wasn't for that thread.

I actually have a PSA 10 with a "rubbed back"!! I don't agree that a Gem Mint card can have a rubbed back, but PSA thinks otherwise.
