Should an "affirmative action" plan be established in the NBA for white american players?

It seems that fewer and fewer white american players make it to the NBA. There are many reasons for this. To make things fair and just (like society in general) should the NBA establish an affirmative action program or quota system that inusres that say 2 spots per team per year must go to white american players (even if they lack the talent and ability to compete effectively)?

If so, why?

No. That would dilute the talent pool even further. The players that are on NBA rosters are there because of their ability, no their skin color.

I think that every NBA team should be required to have one "talent challenged" player on the floor at all times. Not just white players, but talent challenged players of any race, creed, or color. The talent challenged player must touch the ball on at least 50% of the offensive possessions, and the opposing team must allow the talent challenged play to shoot two uncontested layups per quarter. Also, the player being guarded by the talent challenged player should not be allowed to score more than 8 points per half. The talent challenged player must be allowed to pull down 1 rebound per quarter. I still don't think it's enough though. I believe that each non-talent challenged player should be evaluated for skill, and then weights put on the arms and legs of the non-talent challenged player in direct proportion to that player's ability. So, the greater the skill level, the heavier the weights. Let's give everyone an equal chance! God Bless America!

Why is corporate america forced to make hiring decisions based on race, while sports is still a meritocracy. It's a double standard that never goes the white man's way.

That's the problem: Corporate America, Universities, etc., should not have to abide by affirmative action. Only the best and brightest should advance, it the law of natural selection. Race should not be a factor in any way.

As a business owner, I cannot use race as a reason to not hire someone. However, I can use race as a reason to hire someone, provided its a minority. That's ridiculous!

When I watch a football game, I want to see my teams 11 best players vs your teams 11 best players, not 10 vs 10 with two retards.

Then should hockey have at least 5 players that are black since they are more per team? certain sports are dominated by certain races i dont think we should change that.

tennis golf hockey are mostly white.

track and feild and basketball are mostly black. no big deal to me ill watch anything or any race.

And while you're at it, eliminate the 10-foot basket and have the players drop the ball into a hole drilled in the floor........that would be much more conducive to an affirmative action aimed at midgets.

basketball is a joke. High school kids making too much money and turning out to be duds. Does it really matter who plays anymore? I
would like to see more thugs, black or white. Maybe another big fight, so that the NBA is sued so bad they have to close shop.
