Which Grading Company Has People Buying The Holder Instead Of The Card The Most? (poll)

I'll restrict this question to the four big "legitimate" operations; of course, sometimes people on this board dispute even these four So, in your opinion, which company's grading is the most guilty when it comes to inducing cash from buyers' pockets even though the card might not warrant it? I definitely have an opinion on this, but I'll keep quiet for a bit and let y'all battle it out

I like your poll, but it seems like two legitimate questions have been combined.

The "holder or the card" is one question.
The "warranted v. unwarranted" is a second question.

I buy the PSA holder, BECAUSE I have confidence that the grade on the card is warranted.

I am suspicious of the other holder BECAUSE I lack confidence in the card's grade.

If you want to know if I buy PSA graded cards because they have been
graded and slabbed by PSA, the answer is "yes."

If you want to know if I avoid buying cards in other holders, the answer is "yes."

Bjork - I think you may have to come back and 'splain this a bit better - I read this as asking which grading company is most likely to overgrade a card to stimulate future sale of that card. If that is what you are asking, then the question does not address which holder is most likely to be purchased, but, rather, which card is likely to show up in a questionable grade. Also, how should this be statistically analyzed? I don't know the numbers, but I'm guessing that PSA graded cards far outnumber whoever is in 2nd place. So are you talking percentage or numbers? I would think there are more overgraded PSA cards out there simply because of the sheer volume of cards they grade. However, the words that I keyed on in your question are "guilty" and "inducing cash". That, to me, suggests an untrustworthy eye to the future market of the card rather than simply trying to maintain a certain set of quality standards for slabbing a card, regardless of how often those standards may be missed through human error.

Well, what I meant to ask is which company has people buying the grade as opposed to buying the card; for example, a person who buys a PSA 9 because it is a PSA 9 as opposed to buying it because the card warrants the grade (I guess an instance where this could happen is a questionable or borderline low-pop 9 a person needs for a registry set). I didn't include the lower-tier companies because that's pretty much their exclusive line of work

the company with 75% or more of the graded mkt would have to be the answer.

with so many people buying psa graded cards i am sure that even those that buy the holder and not the card outnumber all the rest combined.

I didnt think the question was anymore then that.

My thinking on this:

What % of people instinctively buy the "Holder" and trust the card. If a person is trying to do 100 sets in PSA 8 or better e.g., either he/she will have to take about 100 years or be less selective.

And then from there - what % pick PSA as their "Holder of choice?"
