Where exactly is it supposed to be?!?! by "view" and "view all" under the avatar selection?! I've tried internet explorer and safari and its not coming up under profile or customize.

click "browse" which is to the right of the Upload your own author icon

Some browsers (such as Safari on the Mac) can't see the upload button. You need to trick the web site into thinking you are a good li'l Microsoft slave. For you Mac-heads, a piece of freeware called Safari Enhancer will enable a new menu in Safari called Debug. Under this menu is something called User Agent, where you can choose different browser disguises to conceal your Safari-ness. For web sites that only play well with IE, choose Windows MSIE 6.0 as your user agent, and then you can see the upload button on your profile page.

But now it's too late for another month.
