tuna of the sea question

Just sitting here watching the Yankee's game since hubby's favorite player is Randy Johnson and I thought of this question...

Hubby, said I was asking a Jessica Simpson tuna of the sea question.

Has there ever been a MLB Manger that never played in the MLB?
Thanks,

    Yes...

Ted Turner managed the Braves for one game (a loss) in 1977.

Also, Ed Barrow managed the Tigers in 1903 and 1904, and the Red Sox from 1918 - 1920.

Good trivia question - Many NFL and NBA coaches never made it to the pros as a player. I know Earl Weaver, the long time Orioles manager, never made it to the pros as a player in MLB.

I don't know the answer to your question, but last night my wife and I went to Fridays and I had chicken fingers.

  • I think Walt Alston only had one at bat.
  • The Nfl's "best" coach- Bill Bellichick never played a down of football at the highschool or college level...His dad was a coach and he followed that...

I am actually a high school football coach currently and i have never played a down myself...
