New Collectible Show this Fall on Discovery

For those who like to watch the Antique Roadshow, Incurable Collector and other collectibles shows on the H&G Station - here's one that will air this fall but is setting up in cities in preparation for the airing.

Pop Nation!: America's Coolest Stuff will be going around the country looking for people to come forth with their collections. They are encouraging dealers to be present to allow people to sell their stuff right on the spot.

I like these kind of shows - you see a lot of interesting stuff - plus a "spin" on this show is that the items have to be from the 60's to present - the "pop" generation - sort of an "anti-net54" crowd pleaser?

I will be looking for the show and may even go to the event in Austin.

What do you guys think?

That show will be great...I'll enjoy that one.
  • that does sound interesting! I do like the roadshow ... I am curious, though, who their experts will be (hopefully not the same people offering to buy the items). I remember the roadshow suffered some growing pains, in terms of expert credibility. I think a gun expert wound up charged with lowballing someone in a private deal (un related to the show).

I like those shows too, but hate the "Hey--I used to have one of those!" moments.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same people authenticating/appraising will be doing the offering. And if they lowball enough people, there will be experts watching who will hopefully jump in and complain.

Let's hope the show is fun and we see a lot of cool stuff - since the items are 60s and newer, it appeals to people who can't identify with something made at the turn of century!

Also, I think there may be something built into the show about viewer buying?
