The Cubs Sucked Today

It didn't help that the bullpen took 5 pitchers and 5 ER to get through the 8th and 9th innings, after Zambrano gave up no runs and one hit for the first 7 innings. The worst part is that this is one of the better performances for the bullpen all season. ARRRGGGG!!!

    if the sox sweep the cubs it will be like 1999 all over again....90+ loses and a big time salary dump...say goodbye to maddux,burnitz,hollingsworth,garciaperra,walker,remlinger,hawkins.image

    The Cubs are extremely difficult to watch this year. Granted it does not help when your starting shortstop and second baseman go down. Or two of your starters are continuously hurt. But, besides D. Lee, they just are not even fun to watch.

    Hendry has to do something soon or there will be in a difficult situation to even come close to the wild card.

    Today should be a good matchup with our young rookie pitcher McCarthy just called up from the minors to face Mark Prior. I'm so glad Comcast started carrying WGN.

    The Sox should do fairly well if they avoid a Cubs-like plague of injuries and if their unproven pitching staff can keep the same pace they are at now.

    Im still not sure they can end up ahead of the Twins, but should have a good chance for that or the wild card, barring the above.

    I might even go to a Sox game or two this year. The best part, aside from the food, is that there are always plenty of seats available, so spur of the moment attendance is always possible.
