Should I List or Not. You Decide

I have been a member of this board for a long time, though I do not post as much lately. Over the years I have bought and sold many excellent coins from members. For example, lately, I sold a very high end proof Morgan here. In days past, it used to be fine to list here. Generally, none of us liked links to Ebay or Teletrade auctions, but we usually tolerated it. We did not like dealer spam offering coins either w/o prices, or coins offered way above market, though again we tolerated it. We always did welcome posts advertising PCGS certified coins, offered at set prices that were at market levels. Now I notice that not all members appreciate such posts.
I have decided to break up my 20th century type set. While I am keeping the pieces needed for my basic type set, I want to sell pieces not needed for that set, as well as a number of duplicates. The pieces range from $15 PCGS certified starter coins to items that will probably sell over $500. All except a few are 20th century.
I will respect the majority opinion. Let me know if a listing here is appropriate, or if you would prefer not to see it. I will consider all comments made today, and make a decision to list or not to list tomorrow.

Looks like things are changing and I have noticed a bunch of the old timers do not post much on this forum including myself.
I sure do miss the days of old when thing were much more pure. I still go back and read the great write up you did on "Building a 20th Century Type Registry Set" from time to time.
IMO if some of the new comers spent more time reading some of the great things contributed here and I don't mean just these forums (thanks to PCGS) and less time complaining, I think this would be a much happier place.
As for me I believe most of the current threads here in the registry forum can be put in either the US or BS&T forums.
I first signed on right before the terrorists attacks in NY back in 2001 and it has been a great 4 years and looks like it is almost coming to a close.

IMHO, there is a huge difference between a 'discussion of buying and/or selling' of [or for] a Registry set and in listing coins for sale.
The first is a discourse between collectors regarding interesting events that have occurred [or are about to occur] to their sets. The second is spam better placed in the BST forum.
One example, my 12 year old son was interested in putting together a collection of Kennedy halves some time back. He wanted lower graded unc material. This is the kind of piece that a serious Kennedy collector will have tons of as many submissions just do not make the hoped for grade. Within two days, he put together about 1/3rd of the set, all at very very reasonable prices, probably nothing over $10 or $15 dollars. Maybe he got ripped off by "wannabees", who sold their $5 stuff for $7.50. Who knows and who cares. It was so much easier than trying to go on Ebay and buying these piece by piece. And, the stuff he got was pretty nice. I just don't see why that kind of activity is a problem. Sorry if this offends some high end low pop buyers, but not everyone is in that catagory. Also I have bought and sold a lot of higher end material here. So far, I have not had any complaints, nor have I complained about a seller.
Ironically, some of those who are now complaining loudly have done very satisfactory transactions with me both ways.
IMO, the new policy simply creates less competition for certain dealers by choking off a channel for trade. Maybe that is the idea.
In any event, while I don't like the new policy, I will respect it, and not put my offerings up here.

The benefit of removing all the spam for dealer inventories, Teletrade and ebay listings and coins purchased solely for resale far outweighs the minor inconvenience of only being able to discuss your Registry set sale and not list the individual items. The advantage for the collector is still there.... not to mention it won't get lost in the shuffle as easily.

I just bought or added or picked up a coin for my set, I just sold or upgraded a coin in my set is more in line for a discussion rather then, I have a coin or collection for sale! That's how I read it! lol

When I visit to BST I don't go to the Registry Forum to see who is BST'ing registry coins, or to the US Coin Forum to see who is BST'ing non-registry coins....no, I go to the BST forum.
Maybe I've missed out on some killer deals &/or coins by not doing so, but I figured these Forums were for discusion only, with an occasional OT thread.
Giveaways in the US Coin Forum are similar; everybody, including myself, enjoy giveaways. PCGS has provided a Forum for that, but it seems most members would rather use the US Coin Forum for that. Oh well, sooner or later a mediator will say that's a no-no too.
Members will pout that big brother is coming down on them, but big brother has provided a forum that for some reason seemed too hard to use.
Typetone, pretty childish to say because you can't post items you want to sell on the Registry Forum instead of the BST forum you are going to take your ball & play somewhere else IMO, but....whatever!
I am simply saying that even though I don't agree with the new policy, I will respect it and not list here. I will probably go ahead and post in the BST forum. I don't think that's taking my ball and running. It is simply recognizing the new rule and complying with it.
Thank you everyone for expressing an opinion. Thank you also to those who mentioned the benefit they received from reading my article on 20th century type collecting.

After wading through many, many threads offering to buy/sell Registry coins on the Registry forum, I must say that I'd rather have these on the BST forum. Less clutter, and if I'm looking for a PCGS Registry quality coin, I know where to go.
The best thread I ever started was on the Registry forum and it turned into a great discussion about whether it was possible for someone to take the #1 spot from Stewart in the '09-'58 circulation wheats. This is the kind of thread I'd like to see on the Registry forum, and I'll go to the BST when I'm looking to buy or sell.

Personally, I have often posted a link HERE for coins that I have listed on the BST (I am a collector NOT a dealer). I'd say that 75-80% of my coins sell on the BST boards before they even make it to the bay of E. I find it fun to buy, sell and trade with other PCGS board members. I would much rather do that than go thru the hassle of selling on eBay.
You know, I used to post here in an effort to help people BETTER their registry sets, not to be a pain in the neck. I have seen people's links HERE that have led me to coins that I want on the BST. It's just amazing how people complain over such trivial little things around this place. Very frustrating at times. I guess I'll never understand why some board members spend the day policing where, what and how many times people post messages on these boards....
