Not looking so good for Mr. Bonds

If there is any good that has come from Bonds' doping and cheating, it will certainly be the after-effects of a 40 something's body showing the wear of someone twice his age.

Bonds is done; you can't stick needles full of growth hormones and steroids into your body for years and years and not have any repurcussions. Karma sure does rear it's ugly head doesn't it?

What a sudden, major breakdown. He is not looking too good....and his head is larger than ever.

He's on a 24 hour IV apparently, and is fighting infection in his surgery from his knee. Means his rehab is pushed back, and it's likely he's done.

Guess he won't get to pass 'that old white guy' (Ruth) after all?

I don't wish anybody bad health. With that said, Bonds is the biggest jerk on the planet besides Axtell Rose. image

I'm no BB fan, but I can't quite see the connection between his 'roids and an infection from surgery. Like an idiot, I kept playing basketball with the 20 somethings down at the gym until I was 50. At 45, I needed knee surgery, too; and I never took any 'roids. An infection can happen to anybody, as can bad knees after, oh, 35 or so. Sometimes, bad knees can happen at 15.

axtell and anyone else??? you guys do relize a fake sport called the wwe? look at some of those guys going into there 60's and the governer arnold. were all huge roid takers.. even in there 50's. so dont blame the roids on bonds injury..

yes it might have something to do with it, but i dont think its the biggest factor.

Kuhlmann.....you are correct. But, everybody is not the same and perhaps in this case it did not help his health.

    Oh, almost forgot........Axtell and Gemmy......image

Spy vs. Spy. Somebody's showing his age. Man, I wonder what those late 50s and early 60s Mads I had would sell for on ebay.

where are the Bonds supporters now?? When he was hitting them into the drink there were at least 10 guys here yelling
that he is the best ever, now that Bonds and roids and Bonds and "broken down" are in the same sentences, they are no
    where to be seen.

This guy is supposed to be the greatest home run hitter of all time...is this how he goes out? broken down and in 3rd place? Does
he get a seat next to Big Mac in the Hall or does he get his own wing maybe next to the future Rose exhibit?

How come there are no Bonds supporters now??

Knee injuries are quite common in sports. The fact that Bonds is having problems at age 40 is not premature.
It may not have anything to do with steroids. We have no proof either way.

    Mac53,

You really did play with the young bucks at age 50? That's cool!!! How are you doing now?

Yeah, I did. I wasn't all that competitive at 50. I'm 6'2" which helped a bit, and I can still shoot, but I just don't have the quickness any more to keep up with the young guys. I'd just get out to run around a little and get the heart rate up. But it got so that I had to pay for 2 hours in the gym with 3 days of limping around. So now I compete with the Stairmaster and play golf. Sigh . . .

Bah, I'm not quite 25 years old yet and know of spy vs spy and loved them when I was a kid. Bought MAD all the time in the 80's. image Now something like mr magoo that I only know of because of my dad.. that would be showing how ancient you are. image

Steroids not much of a factor here? I think steroids are definitely a factor here. Bonds was a massive steroid user. Steroids among other things destroy the filtering mechanisms of the body such as the liver and kidneys - this can definitely be a factor in the ability to fight off infections. Unfortunately for Barry he probably won't live to a ripe old age. If he makes it past 50 years old I'll be surprised.
