Fake card I bought on ebay is back up...

As part of the dispute process I had to send back the fake card I purchased. The seller already has it back up and barely mentions the fact that it "could" be a fake/reprint. Infact he goes on about how he got it from a card show and when he examines it next to his graded copy (which I doubt he has) that it looks legit. Is there anything I can do? I have yet to leave him feedback, I still don't know what I want to put. It will be his first neg. with 300 sells/buys. I'm very tempted to email him and tell him if he doesnt pay me back for the return postage and grading fee's Im going to neg him. LOL, would that be wrong? The guy really makes me mad. That's the only reason I really want to give him hell about all of this. He knew it was fake then and sold it to me as "authentic" and now he knows for SURE its a reprint and hes at it again. Any advice is appriciated image.

What is the auction... link it

If you were sold a fake card, you are very lucky to have received anything back at all... but since you did, by all means, go after any expenses you incurred in the process of receiving this fake card.
  • post the link so we can see the card. i don't know what i would do,but i can see where you are out the ship/grading fees but blackmail is no good.

Well, I think you should neg him before somebody else gets hurt. I wouldn't hold something over his head to get more money, that just doesn't seem right, frankly. I'd let ebay know, too (I assume that's where it's listed). I'd be tempted to bring his fraud to the attention of law enforcement. What and where is what I don't know.

    NEG HIM!

The system only works if people aren't afraid use it.

Amen on that ajw. If you don't call the police when you see drug dealing, don't whine that there are too many drug dealers on your block!

I know it doesn't seem right, that doesn't change the fact that I want to image. But that's why I asked for advice, I'd rather have things like they are now. I have my money back and nothing to do with the guy. But if I could get the money back, though its not much, I would really like to. Heres the link. I'm sure within the next few days it will get some bids, though maybe people have looked through his history and have seen that he sold one awhile back(to me). Also I did try contacting Ebay about this situation(when he had sold it to me, haven't tried to get ahold of them about him reselling it) and they were of no help what so ever. They pretty much stopped responding to my emails after a couple of weeks like they didn't care.

Here is where seller got the Jordan card.

Notice the original seller has been NARU'ed.
Also note that the original seller states beyond any doubt that the card is a reprint card. This card is a reprint, however, it does not say reprint anywhere on the card

Here is the auction that Ryan won.

    And here it is again.

All I can say is to report it to eBay. Make sure that you include all of the links above and any proof that you have about it being fake.

<< <i>This card has not been graded so I have to sell it as is, which of course means that it may or may not be authentic >>

Contact ebay and the item will be pulled, this statement which I pulled from his auction violates the Authenticity Disclaimer claim rule.

I created a thread about this topic last week. Ebay will not take the time to pull it, but if it is reported, it will be gone.

    Ryan,

One of the ways that I have found to get some results reporting things to eBay is by doing the following.

    Go to Contact Us

    Click on
    1. Report Problems With Other eBay Members
    2. Problem With Sellers
    3. The Problem You Are Having With Your Seller Isn't Listed

    Click Continue

    Customer Support Option(s):

    Click Email

It will take you to a page where you can

Enter item number or User ID of member being reported:

    Enter your question / concern:

Fill out the question box with all the links and info that you have.

  • i report scammers all the time and i find ebay usually does do something.yes sometimes they don't as the sellers wording or scamming is top notch.but usually they do get NLARUed eventually.i've seen many scams reported and stopped by ebay due to users of this board----thats wonderful---now if we could report them to the police and see them go to jail or pay fines that would really be great!image
  • I just like to ask scammers questions. For example I asked him this:

I would love to have this card but how do I know this is not not reprint you bought Jan 17?

In a large percentage of cases where someone is getting ripped off like this, especially on a card that is known to be highly counterfeited, this is where eBay feedback comes in very handy and can often save someone a lot of time and headache. Some simple checking, as a member of this board was quickly able to do, and you have traced the origin of the card.

After watching people get ripped off time and time again on counterfeit cards on ebay, the majority of the counterfeit sellers are nothing more than pathetic petty scammers, and most are unwilling to wait 90 days to pull the scam because they need the money so badly. The answers are often right there in their feedback for those who want to take a moment and check it.

Why do people spend several hundreds of dollars on a card without doing a little research?

  • Another question is why this seller wouldn't go and just get this Jordan graded...

I am HAPPY to report that after days of nagging eBay with multiple reports

This listing (5194602389) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available.

As several people have told you, and as you know, this would be wrong. It's feedback blackmail and can get you suspended from Ebay. So don't do it image

That said, I would seriously consider contacting the police in this guy's area to get him busted for fraud.
