British crowns are out the door...

Because of the current demand for high quality British pieces I have decided to commission my stuff to an auction house. The Goldbergs have been VERY interested in consigning my Brit stuff and for their September pre-Long Beach auction and I'll need to make a decision soon.

Has anyone sold through Goldberg auctions? Will the pieces get the exposure they need and deserve? Any help would be appreciated. S

OK, Alright!!! I'll raise my offer to $3050. for that PCGS PF66 Goth you have!! image

Seriously, are there any other British coins flanking those Gothics of yours? Would FUN and a HWCA be better? Do you really think British will be cooling off soon?

I'd wait until after the upcoming Cheshire sale's results. Also, I'll be there so everyone here will definitely receive my personal assessment of how well NGC did on the grades....hopefully, they were "tight".

It will be refreshing to see some real high quality British pieces instead of the low end, high priced, cleaned stuff I've been running into as of late. Can't wait to see what you have let looseimage

I guess my question to Mac and others, do YOU think the British market will cool off by September?

IMO not for good quality pieces. There has been so much low end, cleaned British pieces around as of late and sellers are trying to get quality money from them. It seems all the good quality pieces have dried up and I don't think the British market will slow down for these. I think there will still be a demand on older, good quality, pieces as well as good moderns. The only pieces I'd say are not going like mad are Jubilee heads and modern date from the 60's on. But again, this is my opinion and what I have come across. I am no big expert in the British market.image

Darn it, it's gorgeous but it's not a coin!!

Never read anything bad about the Goldbergs, and MSD61 is correct, a superior coin in todays market will attract a superior value.

I'm no expert on the British or any other market, but it's been my experience, that exceptional coins bring exceptional amounts of money, no matter when they are sold. Let us know of the details, once you have them and congrats for your new superbike. The things we'll do to feel young again. image
