Perhaps I am becoming downright paranoid, but . . .

. . . this message has appeared in my email Inbox (not in my "messages" on the ebay website) and I am suspicious. The premise is correct, I did lodge a complaint with ebay about a purchase. Any thoughts on this?

  • The "Dear Ebay Community Member" doesn't sit well... generic salutations like that suggest phishing. Send it to spoof@ebay.com and see what they say.

  • I've got that email before Mac, I just deleted it. Didn't effect my dispute and I still don't know if it even came from ebay.

That is the best way to find out - I always do that. But, this actually sounds legit. Send it to them (spoof@ebay.com), and they'll tell you.

  • They will tell you whether or not it is a spoof in about 5 mins (the vast majority of them are). I think this one, however, is legit.
