My old man gave me some cards a while ago. Actually they are still in his possession because I said "keep them for now".
Anyhow, most of them are from the mid-sixties up until the early 80s. Mostly Topps baseball.
I know that cards are heavily valued by their condition and unfortunately I don't know how to grade them. I'm a coin guy.
I'll give you a few examples:
Mickey Mantle Topps (Err, don't remember the date) - Edges slightly worn, a little yellowed with age but otherwise very nice
Roger Clemens Topps 1984
Leon Wagner Topps 1965
JC Martin (60s, can't remember)
Autographed photo of Mike Ryan
I'm sure it is impossible to tell the value from this info. I'm mostly wondering where I can find more information like grading, prices, etc.
Thanks.

I also wanted to ask another question. Why do people trim cards? I it to fix an edge or corners that may be worn or damaged?
Thank you.
Can you give us a good scan of the Mantle card?
mike
The gunk is on the plastic, not the card.

There are some other cards with stars too. I'll have to go through and catalog them one of these days.
I really have to pick up some of the guides that fsjeter mentioned.
Thanks for the info.

I think you're right. I may have saw "84" on it somewhere and assumed that was the date. Probably not. I'll have to see about looking again.
