OT - Other hobbies?

Well why not... we all seem to get on well here and i think a bit of off topic banter is good every now and again, in moderation of course.

So do you have any other hobbies other than coin collecting?

    Playing hockey.

I also bought two kayaks yesterday, so I'm hoping that kayaking becomes another hobby.
  • World paper money, although it's definitely a faroff second to the coins.

I also like to read and watch sci-fi, I'm a dog lover, play chess occasionally, and like newer rock n' roll.

I have a 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R I like to play with (not completely ricer, but fun to work on).

Besides traveling, writing, target shooting, collecting cheap bolt-action rifles, researching my family history, photography, and a few other things, I don't have any hobbies. image

    Fairlaneman...

Ford Fairlanes were not my specialty but that looks like a 62 or a 63. Great looking car. I have not owned what I would call a vintage Ford (my loss... I still want a Tbird and a 61 roadster would be acceptable if no 57's are left) The 61 roadsters are actually much tougher to get in decent shape.

I am embarrased... I had a friend back in the old days that had a 63... same color as that one.

I collect dolls, like to learn foreign languages (working on French right now), help animals, and if I ever get the time again, would like to return to crocheting and needlepoint, and
    playing my accordian.

Oops...forgot to mention I love to watch birds and nature.

Every year I prepare for and teach an engineering course at the local JC (in addition to my regular job). Since the material is very current-event driven, the course has to be modified every year to incorporate new industrial developments. The challenge is that the course material lies outside of the field in which I currently practice, so it takes up a lot of my spare time from July to December. Hence, I go semi-yeti every year around then.

Luvdawgs, like these critters. We started out with 4 when we got the place last year. Now we have over 20 that come and see us each day. Can't wait for the hatch. They will be everywhere.....image Bird watching could be added for me also.

Let's see, a wife and two kids keeps me plenty busy, hence my long stretches where I don't post. image

I'm also into reading and writing, golf, and fitness. I got back into building plastic models a few months ago, and I'm slowly but surely working on my first one in over 20 years. I feel like I have an art gene I need to activate more often. image

My band for the last 15 years Street Legal , metal detecting, die cast cars, and Buffy TVS.
  • I've got to chime in on this one ... other hobbies ... there's birding and photography - the two go together as can be seen in my Blog. Other interests are my wonderful (but old) Springer Spaniel and the evil, time consuming computer.
