His name is Augustus and he was born at 2:54 PM last Friday afternoon, 8 pounds 5 ounces.
Mother and son are both in great shape. He seems well tempered and quite happy to be here.
We all just got home form the hospital (had to stay a bit longer to recover from the caesarian section). Things are a bit hectic right now but I'll get some photos posted and add detail later.
Edited to add: He's just under an hour old in that picture.

She's not much of a jewelry girl.
I'm paying my dues with house cleaning today. Usually the weekend is the time for cleaning but since she went into labor Friday nothing got done. All day long she's been stressing out "oh my god, the house is a mess and lots of people are going to want to visit and they'll think we're pigs and..." I've been running around with a vacuum, doing dishes, etc., and taking digital photos of my progress to assure her its all being done right. Amazing the silly stuff that seems so important in the moment.
Hopefully they'll both nod off in a bit and I can get to work on the pictures!

This one is his very first photograph. Mom had a ceasarean section so it is in the operating room while the doctors are still checking him out. I could tell from across the room that the lungs were working just fine.
This one is just a few minutes later, we're still in the operating room. He's calmed down a bit and they gave us a few minutes until the whisked him to the nursery and sewed Lam back up.
I followed him up to the nursery where the bathed him, gave him some injections, etc. He's resting peacefully just before all that stuff began.
Nothing seemed to faze him until the nurse put ointment in both his eyes. He perked right up as if to say "Did you see that? She put gunk right in my eyes! On purpose!
And here's the first photo after mother and son were reunited. She's very tired but in pretty god shape all things considered. He's pretty darn content.
That's pretty much the story of the first day.

8 lbs 5 oz, eh? That's exactly what my little bambina weighed when she came out. And my wife's no bigger than yours! We must be starting a trend.
