Giveaway! - 500 posts of nonsense - winners in 1st post

Well, in almost a year and half I've managed to post 500 times. That's an average of almost 1 post a day! It's time to celebrate and to thank everyone around here for their assistance with questions and their amazing lack of cruelty to some of my posts.

Since our host pays for all of this it is only fair to let them in on some of the action. Part 1 of this giveaway is a PCGS graded Jefferson nickel. Not your ordinary nickel either! It's a 1944-D (the "D" is for the Denver, Colorado mint for all you ultra Darksiders). And being a 1944 nickel, it is made of silver instead of nickel (a result of the shortage of metals during WWII). It managed to get graded a Mint State-65 despite being toned a nice golden color. Not only is it a MS65 but it also was awarded the FS (Full Steps) designation.

Part 2 of the giveaway is the 2004 (58th edition) of the Charlton catalog of Canadian coins. Really a nice book, it is spiral bound allowing it to lay flat on your desktop. Over 400 pages of the standard on Canadian coinage. It puts the US equivalent "Red Book" to shame! If you are not a collector of flat pieces of Canadian metal, this book will push you over the edge.

Now at first glance you may think that the nickel is the more desirable prize in this giveaway. DON'T BE DECEIVED! That nickel is like crack. It is firmly enclosed in a plastic slab accompanied by a small piece of paper that documents its condition and even gives the individual coin a serial number. It is an apparently innocent introduction to THIS. If you thought that Darkside stuff was an expensive habit ….

Anyway ... to enter in this giveaway, simply post here (one time) with a number between 0 and 101 and indicate if you would prefer to win paper or plastic. In the event of a tie, the person picking a number first will win. The winner will be announced on Thursday morning whenever I get up.

=======================

OK! it's Thursday morning and as promised, I'm going to give you the winners. But first an explaination of how this amazing feat was accomplished. I'm lazy, so I just selected one number instead of a different number for each prize. Not only that, but I used no imagination at all in selecting the number ... it's my birthyear. '55

So the winners are:
In the plastic catagory - trozau
In the paper catagory - we had a tie at 2 off from the winning number - one high by 2 one low by two - first posted was - boz on Monday at 10:24am

Winners, please contact me via PM with shipping info and thanks to everyone for entering!
