This weeks Masters winner is...

Phil Mickelson!!! He won last weeks' tourney, defending Masters champion, lost to Woods by a stroke at Doral, whom he said he really wants to beat. I think he has the best form and greatest momentum of the BIG 4/5.

Mickelson is too arrogant. He says he doesn't need to practice cause he has "natural ability". Maybe if he practiced more, he could beat Tiger. IMHO

I like Happy Gilmore's chances. Sure Shooter McGavin is more consistent, but I gotta go with the guy who can make the green in one.

Gonna go Vijay...the man is just solid.

Unlike Tiger (new supermodel wife) and Lefty's off field distractions, Vijay doesn't let anything get in his way.

    Tom Watson!

  • Carew29 and joestallin,

It would make my week to see either Tom Watson (my childhood favorite) and/or Nick Faldo (another favorite) finish in the top ten.

I just hope the title comes down to the last three or four holes and we don't have too many weather delays.

I'm gonna go with Tiger. I think he needs one big tournament to start his return to old form, and this could be it. I think it's not a matter of IF he gets that next big win, it's WHEN. We shall see.

I'll also go with Jeff Maggert. He's probably not even playing, but I've got to go with the Aggie.

I'm happy to see that Jack will be playing. It would be a bonus if he makes it to the weekend.

  • Phil. Lefty has it in the bag as long as he putts better than tiger... it will be a logjam at the top on sunday, but Lefty has been working with Dave Pelz for well over a year now and he is using his head off the tee more... no way Tiger wins this week.

    Hi Golf Fans,

I had the once in a lifetime chance to go to Monday's practice round. If you've never been and you like golf at all, I would highly recommend it. There were plenty of people along the way selling "badges" (apparently, scalping is legal in Georgia). I got the impression that for $100 you could get in. Even for $200 it's well worth it

The course is even more incredible than you can imagine, as is the thrill of seeing these pros close up in a rather informal environment. And the overall organization is amazing. The people are incredibly nice. And get this: pop is $1.00, beer is $2.00, chips are 75 cents, candy bars are 75 cents, and sandwiches are $1.50 to $2.50.

Cameras are allowed during the practice rounds, which allows for some great memories.

I don't know who's going to win, I just can't wait to watch.

yeah Im a big Watson fan.. I remember not too long ago Jack needed an Eagle at the 18th hole on Friday to make the cut at one
of the majors and he hit his second shot to like 2 feet from the hole....it was magical Jack...it would be nice to see some of the
    seniors make the cut.

  • I just hope it is as good as last years..I would like to see Mickelson win, but back to back is really tough..

Palmer is at the top, but seeing that he is an Aggie, I don't expect that to last long.

I have as much respect for the greats of the game as the next guy, but why are these guys, who have little (if not no) chance at making the cut, able to take up a spot from someone up and coming?

I know lifetime exemptions and all that, but isn't that why they created the senior's tour?

    Ax
Makes sense but this event is very special and I believe the Golf fans expect to see the "greats" come out for this event - they made golf what it is today - and there will be plenty of time for the up and coming rabbits on the tour IMO.

Mike, you're right, but there's more. Golf, even more than baseball, honors its past. I wish there were more of it. That's got something to do with collecting, doesn't it? Whatever we can do to pay homage to talent that has just gotten old is OK by me.

  • Billy Casper! He will make a great come back and win by beating Jack Nicklaus in a 4 hole playoff. So, what's the big deal if you shoot 34 over on the 1st day. LOL.

Man I was just checking out Casper's score..he had a 14 on a par 3...how do you do that??

And whats up with half the players starting at 10? Dang, good morning..Watson was 3 over after the first two holes....Starting
at 10 at Augusta has to be a bit of a mental challenge. Those scores are a bit deceptive..Woods and Lefty still have the back 9
to play. -3 in the clubhouse looks really good now. Funny with a wet course you would expect the scoring to be better...what
    a brutal corse!

oh and as far as letting the champs get lifetime exemptions, I would rather watch Tom or Jack shoot a pair of 80's, than the other
75% of the "pros" who never win anything.
