I don't really buy cards much anymore, just once in awhile. I only really mess around with cards from before 1990. I've wanted an 89 Upper Deck set for awhile. So last week, I'm looking around ebay and see this set for sell with the Griffey graded PSA 9. the set is selling for what most others sell for without the Griffey graded, so I bought it.
a few minutes ago, I decided to look through the set, see what the Sheffield, Randy Johnson, and Smoltz rookies look like. so there, in front of the set, is ANOTHER Griffey card. and it's as good or better quality than the PSA 9. That's pretty cool, to me. I can get it graded, sell the 2 Griffeys, have more than enough to buy another set, and have doubles of all the other cards.

i learned that PSA will knock a card down to a 6 automatically for a chipped hologram.. i had a Sheffield rookie that graded a 6 and i couldnt udnerstand how it couldve gotten such a low grade, and i started looking at the card, everything was perfect except the damn hologram which had a TINY piece chipped.. pisser..

<< <i>I, too, sent in a Sheffield with a chipped hologram. It graded PSA 10. I've had other cards with a chipped hologram grade a 9. I doubt if your 6 is due to the hologram. Sometimes, the corners can be bent on these cards, and it is nearly undetectable in the slab.
