Offset pocket change.

Going through my change like I always do (the girl friend says I'm obsessed). I have hit a good one, well I think. I have found a 2004-D dime offset. Shows pretty good on the obverse. Rim by the date is barely there, however the rim by liberty is about 2 1/2 times normal.

Is this a big deal in errors?

I have found a few nickels and dimes in my change that look like this in the last year or two. Ive been told they hold no premium. I kept one of each just for kicks and spent the rest of them.

Those are misaligned die strikes and on some issues are very common. I don't believe there is much of a premium for them, though.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one looking at all the loose change I get. Problem is that I do it as soon as I receive the change, so the cashier sometimes thinks I'm questioning the amount...my wife is very helpful in these situations...

When I am in line at the cashier, I can barely wait to see some change. I can't stand it when I am due $.09 and the cashier acts like I am getting a big favor when she hands me a single dime.

I examine change every time and sometime make certain purchases to maximize change. Best I have ever found is an Unc cent with a huge CUD that wipes out the word "God" in the motto. Others are little errors (greased filled die, etc)
